The EVO EV Safe Charge range of Hybrid EV chargers have no internet connection which means they are more cyber secure than smart chargers. Our chargers cannot be hacked, stopped or tampered with online. There are no phone apps or additional software that can create an unreliable charging environment. Our chargers just need a power supply making them quick and cost efficient to install.

Integrated RCDs
To make your charging experience as safe as possible EVO EV Safe Charge range of EV chargers have an integral 30mA Type-A RCD + 6mA DC protection device meaning you don’t have to install an expensive Type B RCD into your consumer unit.
PME fault detection
TN-C-S is the most common type of earthing configuration for your incoming power supply in the UK. Connecting your EV Charger to this type of connection would normally mean you will need to have an earth rod installed at your property which can be disruptive and expensive. The EVO Safe Charge EV Charger has built in PME fault detection (Loss of PEN function). It does this by meeting the requirement of BS 7671:2008 Amendment 1 (2020) part 722.411.4.1 (iv) where when a PME fault is detected the charger will go into fault condition (trip) and become fully galvanically isolated from the vehicle.
Touch Current Protection.
During PME Fault conditions the protective earth could become current carrying and potentially cause an electric shock. The EVO Safe Charge® range of EV chargers detect if a current of <30mA is present in the protective earth and the EV charger will go into fault condition (trip) and become fully galvanically isolated from the vehicle. It does this even if the current to earth voltage is measured to below 50v.
What is full galvanic isolation?
Galvanic isolation (or separation) refers to the fact that the output power circuit is electrically and physically isolated from the input power circuit.
Thermal Protection on our Guns and Sockets
In conjunction with our product partner, EVO EV has developed the highest quality Type 2 tethered guns and sockets with built in thermal protection sensors. The importance of having this function is that through heavy usage electrical connections wear resulting in dry or loose contacts that can cause heat build-up potentially causing expensive damage to the electric vehicle or the EV charger. If heat is detected in the terminal connections of the gun or socket the charger will switch off until it has cooled and then automatically turn back on and continue charging.

Industrial Grade components
All our EV chargers incorporate industrial grade components with high quality stainless steel housings with easy to maintain replaceable serviceable parts extending the life of the EV charger and lowering the cost of ownership. We at EVO EV don’t believe EV Chargers should be another short life throw away product like most electrical devices have become.
Stainless steel housing
All our housings are built from 1.2mm gauge stainless steel that are designed to last a lifetime, with very high durability, corrosion and high impact resistance suitable for the harshest of conditions. The front is a full clamshell with no visible fixings on the outer cover giving the charger a high quality and luxurious look and feel. The RGB (red, green, blue) LED pushbutton and charge state indicator is of stainless steel and is used to set the contactor. Industrial nickel plated glands and cable bend protectors are used to continue our philosophy of quality, longevity and serviceability.
Ease of Installation
We supply all fixings and a template needed to mount the charger.
Electronics
Through our extensive research and testing we have developed our four layer printed circuit board using industrial grade components that are of the type used in high precision industrial machinery. We do not use any domestic grade components and that’s to include our industrial contactor that can operate 1000’s of times a day under the most rigorous industrial conditions.
Built in Fault Diagnostics
EVO Safe Charge® range of chargers have built in self fault diagnostics with easy to read circuit board mounted LEDs that tells you exactly what the fault is, making trouble shooting and fault finding quick and easy reducing maintenance costs.
